We have now held five Repair Cafe events at the Braughing Community Centre.   All were a great success, with all repairers fully booked.  

A team of volunteer repairers are willing to look at most types of treasured belongings from large toys, cycles, laptops and electrical items to mending clothes and sharpening blades.  Even if you have nothing to repair, you are welcome to a seat in the cafe to check out what's going on and enjoy tea or coffee and a slice of homemade cake.

Residents grateful for extended  life of treasured items

The fifth repair cafe, held in November 2025, was another success.  Every slot was pre-booked and around 30 items - clothing, cycles, laptops and small electrical items were brought in for repair.  Owners could watch while repairs were being carried out, with tea, coffee and cakes available for visitors too.  There was a pleasant atmosphere of togetherness, with repairers being applauded with each of their successful repairs.  The majority of items were able to be repaired, which saved them having to be taken to the recycling centre.  

We are enormously grateful for the donations, and to the fabulous team of repairers, hosts, cake makers and helpers who freely volunteer their time and make this work so well. 

Our next cafe will be held on 18th April 2026 between 1 and 4pm.
